2017 Cohort Leavers’ Day

2017 Cohort Leavers’ Day

Just over a week on, the dust has settled and, whilst school remains busier than ever, we hope our 2017 cohort are enjoying a well-earned rest following their 2022 GCSE exam season.

We are incredibly proud of the pupils, who showed exceptional commitment to their exams following what has been an unquestionably challenging couple of years.

After the last whole cohort exam, pupils and staff gathered on Rew Valley field to participate in the traditional pupil v staff rounders match. Like cohorts before them, the year 11’s had a lot of fun and played a good match, but our hugely competitive staff team gave them a real run for their money and came out victorious. Everyone then enjoyed a BBQ and ice-cream before heading back to school for the Leavers’ Ceremony.

Parents, staff and pupils met in the main hall to hear Mr Boyd and Miss Sheen address the year group, giving advice for the future and sharing memories from the last five years. Pupils were then handed their yearbooks, which we hope they will look back on in years to come with fondness for their time with us at TIFS.

Following the ceremony, year 11 pupils did one last lap of honour around the school. Their route was lined by staff and younger year groups, clapping and cheering them on as they took their first steps towards the next chapter in their lives.

The final part of the day saw pupils, staff and parents gather in the dining hall to sign yearbooks, share stories and conversations, and say their goodbyes. It was quite emotional for some and tissues had to be found for many (Miss Fraser certainly needed a lot!).

We wish everyone from the 2017 cohort well for the future, please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on!
